1-Load the truck
Supplies: beanbags to use as rocks and a sturdy dump truck.
Place the dump truck at a reasonable distance for the age of the children. Each player must throw three or four “rocks” into the dumpster. Each rock that lands in the truck’s dumpster pay off at a low price for the launcher!
2-The site manager said
This game is played as Jacques said, except that “the construction foreman” replaces Jacques.
The game master must say “the foreman said” for the players to act. If a player performs the action when the gamemaster has not said so, he is eliminated. The final player in play defeats the match. The game master can ask the group to perform actions such as digging a hole, sawing wood, or driving a nail.
3-Construction tape
Supplies: 2 rolls of construction tape.
In this game, teams compete to be the first to wrap their construction supervisor in construction tape completely. Divide the children into two groups. Select one party per unit to be the area director. Provide each team with a roll of construction tape to wrap the leader. The first team to completely cover their leader’s body wins the game.
4-Wrecking Ball
Supplies: cardboard boxes, a basketball, and a plastic bag with handles.
Here is a fun construction site birthday game for children, but it must be done outdoors. Replicate a building by stacking boxes on a flat surface. Place a basketball in a plastic bag and tie it by the handles to a sturdy tree branch or something similar. Line up the kids and let everyone throw three throws in an attempt to demolish the “building”. Please keep track of how many boxes each child knocks down, then put them back for the next player. Whoever knocks down the most boxes wins a prize.
Alternative: You can use a tennis ball and shoeboxes or cereal boxes for a smaller version or an indoor version.
5-The Toolbox
Supplies: the variety of tools, toolbox, and blindfold.
Place one tool at a time in the toolbox. Blindfold the children and ask them to put their hands in the toolbox and guess which tool it is just by touching it. Whoever guesses correctly wins a prize. Tools that can be used are a hammer, screwdriver, spanner, tape measure, carpenter’s pencil, etc.
6-The bucket of sand
Supplies: sandpit or paddling pool, a bucket of sand per team, and a teaspoon for each player.
It’s the perfect outdoor building game that’s not only fun at parties but it’s also a great team-building exercise. Fill the sandbox or paddling pool with sand. Divide the group into two teams and provide each team with a bucket and each team member with a teaspoon. Each team must work together to scoop sand into their bucket using the spoons. The team that fills their bucket first wins the game. Make sure there is enough room for the teams to play correctly.
7-Wheelbarrow race
Supplies: one toy wheelbarrow per team and lots of polystyrene bricks
This isn’t the traditional wheelbarrow race you might remember from childhood, where each team competes to win using their teammates as wheelbarrows. With this construction game, there are real wheelbarrows involved. Separate the kids into two groups and band them up. Place a stack of bricks at the opposing end of each section. The first person in line from each team must run with the wheelbarrow to the bricks.
He must pick up the bricks using only his hands and fill the wheelbarrow. When the wheelbarrow is complete, he must run to the end of the line, throw the bricks and hand the wheelbarrow to the next teammate.
8-Excavations
Supplies: sandbox or paddling pool, earth or sand, various tools, and small toys.
If you have a sandpit or paddling pool that you can fill with dirt or sand, this is a perfect construction and construction-themed party game. Just buy a bunch of small toys or favors, and bury them in dirt or sand (you can wrap them up first to protect them). Provide plastic shovels or other tools to all participants and ask them to search the site. They can keep whatever they find.
DIET OR SAND ALTERNATIVE: If you’re planning an indoor party or don’t want guests covered in dirt, you can use wrapping chips or shredded paper confetti.
9-Obstacle course
Create a fun obstacle course for little construction workers. Use your imagination to create fun obstacles. Here are some ideas:
- Cross a beam
- Drive a nail (golf tee) into a piece of plywood
- Zigzag through orange construction cones while pushing a wheelbarrow
- Pass under a table through balloons. Secure some series to the back of the balloons and turn them at unlike sizes under the plain. The more balloons beneath the table, the better fun it is for children.
